What will I see?
You will visit the acclaimed Accademia Museum to view the incredible work of Michelangelo and spend time with "David," along with other significant pieces, including "I Prigioni," "San Matteo," and the "Palestrina Pietà".
What will I do?
You will be able to examine some of Michelangelo's most important works in detail under the expert tutelage of our local guide. Michelangelo was a young man when he took three years to carve David from an enormous block of marble that had been considered "unworkable". David is depicted at the pinnacle of his physical gifts, as an embodiment of strength and courage, symbolizing his faith in God, and the invincibility of the Florentine Republic at its most splendid peak. This is just one example of the fine works of art you will visit on this tour.
Why should I go?
You will discover more about some of the most revered Renaissance artworks with a knowledgeable guide and, after the tour, you can stay in the Accademia museum on your own to continue enjoying the iconic works of the Italian Renaissance in a way that can't be experienced just by looking at photographs.
